So, who exactly needs this D6 visa? If you’re planning to work for a religious or social welfare organization registered in South Korea, or if you’ve been sent by a foreign religious organization to participate in activities in South Korea, this visa is for you. Also, if you’ve been invited to do missionary or social welfare work, this article is for you. Keep in mind, though, that this visa may not apply if you are being paid for your services during your stay.
How to apply and documents required
Now let’s talk about how to apply for this visa. The D6 visa has a maximum stay of two years. You can apply in person at an embassy or consulate, but make sure you have all the necessary documents. What are these? You’ll need an application form, a standard-sized photo (make sure it’s a good one!), a small fee, a dispatch order, and a letter of establishment from your religious or social organization. If your organization is covering your expenses, you’ll also need documentation of that.
Important tips and reminders
Before we send you off, here are a few important tips: “Religious activity” means proselytizing or other religious acts performed by religious workers sent by an international religious organization; and “religious organization” means an organization dedicated to spreading religious doctrine and training believers.
